Different Types of Patio Doors Available at Glass Rite At Glass-Rite, we tailor our products to New Mexico climate and conditions. New Mexico is an area that gets very HOT, very COLD, and windy. We have designed our replacement windows to take these unique climate factors into account, so that you can have a quality window that is suited to OUR climate! Glass-Rite is a proud distributor of JeldWen patio doors, and we help bring your home to life by putting the greatest effort into the small and large door details. Hardware, finishes, hinges, and trim are among many of the door accessories that add to the beauty and make a big impact. From the door type, to material, to energy efficiency options, we have custom built doors to make your home uniquely yours. Vinyl Sliding Patio Doors Here at Glass-Rite we carry Jeld-Wen vinyl sliding glass doors. There are two different grades of vinyl frame available, and with each door, you get several options for the glass including energy efficient Low- E. Jeld-Wen vinyl sliding glass doors include a matching screen and can be ordered with optional keyed locks on the handle-set. There are many different options for these doors including grid patterns that can be inside the double-pane unit or outside to give it more of an historical feel. As the least expensive and most energy efficient option, more people are putting vinyl sliding doors in their homes. Why choose vinyl? Vinyl patio doors are lighter weight doors than the old aluminum sliders, and the frames are much more energy efficient. A major benefit of vinyl doors is that the frame has welded corners. This essentially makes the frame one solid piece of vinyl, and there is little to no possibility for air infiltration. Vinyl sliding doors also typically come with an energy efficient Low-E glass and are available in many styles. Using a Low-E insulated glass unit instead of single or double-pane clear glass will make a big difference in comfort due to the large volume of glass. Sliding doors are also a great space saver. In a room where there is no space for doors to swing open, sliders provide much more space. Vinyl sliding glass doors will usually include a matching sliding screen door. With so many options available, we understand that can be a challenge, but in reality, it is very easy to customize doors for your specific needs. Whichever style of patio doors you choose will brighten any
room by bringing much more light into your home! As always, we at Glass-Rite offer free, no pressure, and on-site estimates, and we would be pleased to have an opportunity to help with your next project. Wood Clad Sliding Glass Doors At Glass-Rite, we offer several options of Jeld-Wen wood-clad sliding glass doors. There are many custom capabilities of these doors, including size, design, finish, wood species, glass and grille design. All Jeld-Wen wood sliding glass doors come standard in AuraLast wood (Pine) for exceptional protection against decay and termites. If Pine is not your wood of choice, there are many other wood species from which to select. There are also options of having the exterior of the door metal clad in an array of colors, including copper finishes for an even more dramatic look. One of the advantages of wood sliding doors is the highly customized look that can be achieved via different wood trim profiles and distressing options. Some of the decorative offerings include chiseled, hand hewn, wormholes and wire brushed surfaces. Any of these can be combined to suit your unique design needs. If you select our wood-clad sliding glass doors from Jeld-Wen, you’ll also receive the benefit of improved energy costs and comfort, as these doors come standard with Low-E glass which is insulated with argon gas. Keep in mind, Glass-Rite always offers free, no pressure, and on-site estimates, and we would be pleased to help with your next project. French Patio Doors Here at Glass-Rite we carry several different Jeld-Wen catalogs of wood clad-aluminum style French Patio doors. There is every option from standard builders’ grade French patio doors, to completely customizable premium French patio doors. Jeld-Wen offers us several different styles including exterior colors, optional grid patterns, wood species, even hard-ware styles. Whichever style of French patio
doors you choose you will be bringing much more light into your home, which will brighten any room! As always we at Glass-Rite offer free, no pressure on-site estimates and would be pleased to give you an estimate on your project. If you are looking for French style doors, we like to inform our customers up front that vinyl is not usually an option. Because of the weight of the glass in the swinging panels, French style doors are not built in vinyl as there is a possibility that the frame could warp. Because of the heavy glass panels French style doors are typically built in metal, wood, or a wood clad-aluminum frame. The wood clad- aluminum are the most popular, and is available in many wood types and color options. The door itself has a stainable wood frame with an aluminum facing on the outside. This is great, especially in the New Mexico climate, because it protects the outside of the door from the elements. Installation Since windows and patio doors are the only things Glass-Rite installs, we know how to do it right! We don’t do siding, stucco, sunrooms, decks, or additions: we do window replacement and window installations, every day, in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Las Cruces and all over the state of New Mexico! When you choose Glass-Rite, you will get a well-trained, professional crew that will come and replace your windows quickly, with minimum disruption to you and your home. The way your window is installed is critical to how well it performs. At Glass-Rite we do not subcontract out our installations—all installations are done by our own crews. Glass-Rite has been performing window replacement in the Albuqerque and Santa Fe area since 1984. We know how to replace those old steel casement and aluminum windows on stucco homes and have developed methods of removing window frames that leave little or no damage to the stucco in most cases. Instead of trying to make standard sized windows fit, Glass-Rite will custom size each window so you can be assured that your new windows will fit properly. In addition, because we are a local Albuquerque manufacturer, if something is not just right, we can correct it right away.
Before and After Installation Glass-Rite in Albuquerque would like to share some pictures of three recent residential window replacement projects. What a difference new windows can make in the appearance of a home, as well as in energy savings! The first home that we wanted to share had single-pane casement windows that conducted too much energy.
