In the top of the Morro there is a statue of Jesus, to prevent future wars between Chile and Peru.
That`s part of the north coast, there are buildings along the coast, specially for tourists.
This is “La Isla del Alacran”, an isle joint to the city 50 years ago. It is very close to the downtown.
This is part of the “old downtown” of the city. Arica belonged to Peru till 1880, then it turned into a chilean city.
And yes, there is a Mc Donalds everywhere, even in Arica you can find the Big Macs !
Arica`s got 30 kilometers of beach aprox. , so water sports like surf are very popular here.
The San Marcos Cathedral, it was designed in France by Gustave Eiffel, and assembled here in Arica.
That`s part of the downtown, not high buildings but lot of places to do shopping.
Palm trees are common here, because of the weather. It is very hot during the whole year.
Despite the fact that we are in a desertic area, we have a 50 kilometers valley where they produce tomatoes, mangos and specially olives trees.
Sport Uniform, Camping inside the school, everything in a farm area close to the city, that is Colegio Andino.
