Construction and excavation are directly related to each other. Different conditions require different techniques of excavation to ease the construction process like building homes, offices require different excavation techniques than a swimming pool. Excavation Techniques For Construction
Excavation refers to the digging down of holes, both small and large for construction or archaeological purposes. Construction and excavation both are related to each other. both of them are complex activities that are carried by expert general contractors. There are several techniques that are used for carrying out the excavation techniques for construction. Contractors can select any technique according to the site or land's requirement.
HORIZONTAL EXCAVATION The archeologists may use plow strips along a surface of shallow sites to expose any object lying under the surface
VERTICAL EXCAVATION It is excavating a significant depth of the deposits. Every layer of soil is pulled out one at a time until a rocky or deep soil layer is exposed off.
HYBRID EXCAVATION If you are having trouble to choose from one the horizontal and the vertical techniques ,then you opt hybrid excavation. it is the combinations of both methods, and when there is a need for deep underground excavation, this method is used.
COFFERDAMS Generally, this method is practice for waterlogged areas or site. These are commonly used for construction of bridge piers and other structures built within water.
STEP TRENCHING This method too involves deep excavation. It is done in steps. The more you dig, the narrower the steps become.
