  1. Vitiligo Treatment in Mumbai.

  2. Vitiligo is a condition of the skin that causes it to lose its color. It may happen in patches, affect the patient’s entire body, or only occur on one part of the body. Vitiligo Treatment in Mumbaiwith the process of restoring skin color. While there isn’t a complete cure for vitiligo, there are measures that professionals like Dr. DebrajShome and Dr. Rinky Kapoor recommend to reduce the spread of the condition to the entire body and help restore the color of the skin where it has been affected. Treatment also depends on a number of factors such as your age, the area that has been affected, and how severe the condition is spreading. Keep in mind that medication is unpredictable and results may vary. There may also be side effects to the treatment. VitiligoTreatment by Medication While no drugs can stop the process and spread of vitiligo, some therapy and treatments can help restore color. These includes;

  3. Anti-inflammatory drugs – these are simply drugs that control inflammation. The medication is best effective when the vitiligo is still in the early stages. You are required to apply the cream to the affected areas to restore the skin color. But don’t expect to see immediate results. Children and people with large affected areas may be recommended to apply mildly. For those whose condition is spreading fast, Corticosteroid injections and pills may be recommended. Medication for the immune system – some ointments may be helpful to people with mild depigmentation. Calcineurin inhibitor ointment, especially, serves as an effective treatment. This may include ointments such as tacrolimus and pimecrolimus. Light therapy – Phototherapy has also been successful in slowing vitiligo and is even more effective when used with ointments such as calcineurin inhibitors. For maximum results, you must attend your therapy sessions at least 2 to 3 times a week for 1 to 3 months.

  4. Depigmentation – this is removing the rest of the skin that is not affected. This treatment is drastic but is best suitable for those whose vitiligo has spread widely on the body, and other treatments haven’t made a difference. While with other treatments the medication is applied on the affected areas, with depigmentation, the treatment is applied on the unaffected areas. With time, the skin lightens and blends with the areas that were discolored. The therapy takes longer and is done at least twice a day for up to 9 months. Psoralenand Light therapy – Psoralen is a plant-derived component that you can take orally or apply on the skin areas that are affected. The treatment is then combined with light therapy to see a more effective result. Vitiligo Treatment Cost in Mumbai Different types of surgery have been proven effective in treating vitiligo. This includes; Skin Grafting – In this procedure, the doctor takes small pieces of skin from the healthy part

  5. of your body and plants them on the affected areas. It is mostly done when you only have small patches of vitiligo Blister Grafting – In this procedure, the doctor creates blisters on your healthy skin, then transplant them onto the discolored skin.
