Meanwhile, John maintains his anti-nuclear proliferation beliefs and joins the CIA in Islamabad to watch Pakistan's nuclear development. Their allegiance to one other and confidence in love will be tested over the course of decades of separation and individual difficulties in the face of rival philosophies.
