COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING GREATER NOIDA NEWS LETTER DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING (March-May, 2020) VISION T E C H Q U E S T 3 M A R C H , 2 0 2 0 To impart knowledge and skill of Electronics and Communication to develop and sustain a culture of research while promoting values, innovation, entrepreneurship, ethics and professionalism to meet the needs of industry and society. Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering has organized an activity tech quest on 3rd March 2020 for the students of ECE 3A and B and ECE 2A. Venue was the Deptt classroom. The 2nd Year students participated in the event. The quiz was on the topic of digital electronics. The students are given the google sheet having various questions. There are 5 students in each group. The time duration was two hours. Some students of final year also interacted with the second year students. They shared their experience with them. MISSION Students who gave good result were also given certificates. Program winded up with group photo of students and faculties and students moved to their classroom after lunch break. 1. To conduct the electronics and communication program with practical exposure, creating new knowledge and skill-sets by engaging in the research oriented approach and promoting the academic growth. engineering 2. WEBINAR: Top 8 Technology Trends for 2020 and How Do Students Prepare Themselves 22 April, 2020 Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering has organized a Webinar on the topic of Top 8 Technology Trends for 2020 and How Do Students Prepare Themselves on 22nd April 2020. The speaker for Webinar is Mr. Damodar Sahu who is the head of Digital Strategy Automotive in Manufacturing Business Unit at Wipro Limited USA. There were 218 registrations from both within IIMT Group and outside the IIMT, with few registrations from faraway places like Yuganda. He discussed about the top 8 technologies which are Machine Learning, Artificial intelligence, Internet of Thing, Artificial neural Network, Python programming In ML he discussed about the learning techniques of Machine ,chess board example and some hands on programming with some general example like how the machine will identify the vehicle plate number at traffic signal. He discussed about the machine learning techniques that are supervised, unsupervised and technique. He discussed the application of artificial intelligence in day to day life shopping complex, health care department, entertainment, finance etc. He also discussed about the python programming and some programs and relate it with machine learning techniques. He also discussed home automation example related with IOT. reinforcement learning Symposium on “Professional Development & Opportunities in Electronics”, on Saturday 09 May 2020, through ICT mode, from 11:00 AM to 01:30 PM. Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering has organized a Symposium on “Professional Development & Opportunities in Electronics”, For this event the department received response from all across the country. A total of 404 registrations were done out of which an overwhelming 70.3% (285) were from outside IIMT family. A vast majority of such registrations came from states like Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Chattishgarh. Another interesting fact is that out of total 404 registrations 66.3% (267) were faculty. The speakers for this event were: 1. Dr Shashikant Sadistap, Sr. Principle Scientist, CEERI Pilani 2. Mr. Ashish Saxena, Senior Data Scientist, Salasar New Age Technology, Noida 3. Mr. Shashank Chaturvedi, Sr. Design Engineer, ST Microelectronics, Greater Noida 4. Mr. Harsh Bhatnagar, Daksha System & Services Pvt. Ltd., Delhi One of the speaker Mr. Shashank Chaturvedi is also an alumni of ECE department. This symposium was divided into two sessions. The first session was attended by 104 participants, and the second session was attended by 165 participants.

CSIR CEERI Pilani etc. shares their real experiences regarding placement scenarios and current hiring trends going on.
