Electronic items are fragile items and it should be handled carefully Courier company usually handled carefully the package that has been marked fragile, we have compiled few tips and advice. Before packing the electronic items follow this suggestion: • Consult the user manual of the manufacturer– In user manual they usually give way to pack electronic item for shipments , if you don’t have manual anymore you can always contact the manufacture. • Know how your devices fit together - Need to know how your item fit together In one box and should be knowing which parts need more protection • Prepare a back-up- if you’re shipping a computer or a laptop, you should create a back-up where you can save all your important files and documents. This way, if anything does go wrong during the shipment, you won’t lose your files.
How to Pack Electronic Devices Use the original packaging: Pack the electronic items in the original package that it had been sent ,it will be more secure .For extra secure measurement the original box should be placed inside an another carboard box. The most important thing is there shouldn't be any empty space .Fill the space with polystyrene or foam chips, bubble wrap is advised.
Preparing the device: Electronic items should be disassembled when it is possible ,each part of the item should be packed separately In the process, you should ensure that the device is turned off and/or is disabled to turn on itself during transit. Internal Packaging: This is the most important type of packaging. If you are sending small electronics, using packing peanuts and placing them between the items will be suitable. Since foam peanuts sometimes stick to electronics, you should use other cushioning materials such as bubble wrap or even thin blankets. When you pack electronic devices, use as much cushioning material as necessary. This will prevent the items from sliding around.
Seal it: Seal the box thoroughly by using thick tape both horizontally and vertically. Then gently shake the box to make sure the items don’t shift around If you want to transport electronics such as printers or recorders, make sure you take out the ink cartridges. CDs, DVDs and batteries should be taken out and stored separately. Bundle the cords and bind them together. If you are shipping a TV or any device with a screen, use a foam cover to protect the screen. By following this advice, your electronic devices are more protected for their journey. This way, you won’t have to keep your fingers crossed for them to reach their destination in one piece.
