So testing of transformer oil is important. In this slide we can know the top 3 method to test transformer oil. These methods can help to detect the problem of transformer oil and can find out the solution of problem.

  3. Methods to Test Transformer Oil The top 3 methods to test transformer oil. They are: oil type test, routine test of transformer oil, and special testing of transformer oil. 1) Oil type test: The first method to test transformer oil is oil type test. There are different types of test for different types of transformer oil. At first we have to know that, which type of oil is it in the transformer . It may be paraffinic-based transformer oil, naphthenic-based transformer oil,or bio-based transformer oil etc. Some tests are mentioned in below: • Vacuum test Viscosity testing • Tap charger testing • Winding resistance testing • Insulation resistance testing • Short Circuit Impedance • Temperature rise test
