  1. Get the best HVOF Coating at IMZ Metallizing The HVOF or the High-Velocity Oxygen Fuel coating is a thermal spray coating process. This process is employed to improve as well as restore a component's surface, properties, and geometry. It is a surface engineering technique. Such a technique promotes the life extension of equipment by doing the following: Increasing Erosion resistance Increasing Wear resistance Providing Corrosion protection How does HVOF spraying/coating work? Developed in the 1980s, HVOF spraying is a subset of thermal spraying. It works by mixing fluid fuel and oxygen and then feeding into a combustion chamber for ignition. The resultant gas has an extremely high temperature and pressure. This sharp beam is ejected through a nozzle at supersonic speeds. With this high-velocity gas stream, the powder is injected in a partially melt condition. Then, this hot stream of gas and powder is directed towards the surface to be coated, which results in dense coating with low porosity and high bond strength. Such methods provide high corrosive resistance. Advantages of Using HVOF Coating for Surface Preservation There are various advantages of HVOF spraying over other thermal spray processes. The primary advantage is the improved coating quality, along with the following: Higher density and lower porosity because of greater particle impact velocities Higher strength bond to the substrate Improved cohesive strength within the HVOF coating

  2. Less in-flight exposure time due to lower oxide content More powder chemistry retention due to reduced temperature time Smoother sprayed surface and smaller powder sizes Better wear resistance with the HVOF tough coatings Better hardness with less degradation of carbide phases Better corrosive protection due to less thickness porosity Thicker coating with lesser residual stresses Low Application Temperature and Residual Stresses with a higher Impact Resistance Neutral to Compressive Residual Stress, which culminates in better thickness capability Lesser Chipping & Peeling Application of HVOF Coating High-velocity oxy-fuel spraying is primarily used to apply high-quality cermet coatings such as WC/Co or WC/Co/Cr. Each of the coating thickness ranges between 0.1 and 2 mm. Some of the characteristic features of HVOF sprayed coatings include the following: Low Level of porosity (About 1-2 vol%) Low Oxide content (range 1-2 wt%) Bond strength, more than 80MPa

  3. You can use these coatings across a spectrum of engineering and manufacturing applications as they enhance the surface components' properties. We facilitate the preparation of cost-effective and high-performance parts made from low-cost and lightweight materials. Some of the commonly deposited HVOF coating materials include the following: Cermets, such as the following: WC/Co WC/Co/Cr Cr3C2/NiCr NiCrSiBC Cr2O3 Al2O3 ZrO2 Metal Alloys, such as the following: Steels Nickel Chromium Cobalt alloys, NiCrSiB & MCrAlYs Pure Metals, such as the following: Nickel Cobalt Aluminum Molybdenum Titanium Polymers, such as the following: Polyester Nylon Composites, like Ni-graphite The HVOF spraying can produce coatings for any of the following: Wear and Tear Protection Low friction Surfaces Corrosive protection Protection from High-Temperature oxidation Electrical Insulation Restoration of damaged components HVOF Coating Gun at IMC Metallizing
