3. Canada - Ice-fields Parkway The Most Important Information At A Glance Car: Jeep Wrangler Length: about 232 kilometers Duration: at least two days Travel time: June to September Canada is most likely the ultimate road trip country! Already the awesome landscapes and the wild animals make almost every minute a real adventure. During our trip to Canada, we especially liked the Icefields Parkway between Lake Louise and Jasper. Immediately after the small town of Lake Louise, we start on Route 93. The road will lead you past many lakes, if you do not want to stop at all, then at least decide for the Peyto Lake. The best view of this is from the Bow Summit, the highest point on the parkway. To get a good view of the typical wide landscape, it's best to stop at the Saskatchewan River Crossing. Here, three rivers flow together in an open valley and offer a brilliant picture. Another great vantage point is the parking lot near the Panther Falls, because from here you can overlook a part of the Icefields Parkway. Then it's on to the Columbia Icefield, which is the largest concentration of ice south of the Arctic Circle and gives off a really blatant landscape. If you've been on the glacier ice enough, the road will take you next to the Athabasca Falls.
Even behind the 23-meter-high waterfall waiting with the turquoise Athabasca River, which winds its way through the valley, a real highlight on you. For the final leg to Jasper, you can take the smaller 93A road instead of Icefields Parkway. Since it is only through the forest, you have a better chance of encountering one or the other wild animal, such as bears or moose. 4. Here the Wild Coast lives up to its name and especially the "Hole in the Wall", a rock arch in the bay is worth a short hike. Next stop is Kei Mouth, where you can chill out on the beach or surf at Wacky Point, then head east to Port Alfred via East London. Here you can make the Kowi River by canoe uncertain. Then you continue on the sunny coast of South Africa until the start of the Garden Route in Port Elizabeth. On the N2, you first come to Storms River in Tsitsikamma National Park. There you can jump from Bloukrans Bridge 216 meters with the bungee rope into the depths! In addition, the multi-day hike along
the Otter Trail is really great. A little further on you pass Plettenberg Bay. Here's a hike in the Robberg Island Nature Reserve. Back on the N2, shortly before Cape Town starts Chapman's Peak Drive, which gives you breathtaking views! Definitely make a stop at the Cape of Good Hope and walk down from the parking lot to the infamous Cape. You must stop at Noordhoek Beach, one of the most stunning beaches around Cape Town and often deserted!
