  18. Tell us more about the services that give Carnegie East House distinct edge to stand out from the competition? Carnegie East House is distinct in its market—New York City—it offers expansive apartments, dynamic programming and exceptional value. As a not-for-profit organization, the end goal is not to produce increased profitability. Our efforts focus on one objective: serving and supporting residents with the highest standards of care possible. Our operations and programming are constantly evolving to meet our residentʼs new needs and to serve them better Residents of our community represent all backgrounds and professions: teachers, doctors, lawyers, nurses, interior decorators, accountants, writers, judges, librarians, homemakers, artists, actors, professors, researchers, social workers, simultaneous interpreters, and musicians. We are an inclusive community that appeals to people who value individual care in an ideal setting, where healthy aging is nurtured and fostered. What is your opinion on the effects of the current pandemic on the healthcare sector, and what challenges did Carnegie East Houseface during the initial phase of the pandemic? users who have a higher level of proficiency—new needs will have to be met. New buildings and residential units will have to be much more energy efficient. Additionally, advances in technology will enable clinicians and patients to interface more efficiently and effectively. One cannot underestimate the financial and human capital challenges presented by the pandemic. From the cost of purchasing enormous quantities of personal protection equipment to the loss of revenue due to a freeze on admissions, the strain has been taxing. In addition, the pandemic placed many additional stressors on staff—all of whom are essential workers—by putting them at risk by commuting and working and adding to their already heavy workloads with additional safety protocols and new regulations issued weekly. As an established leader, what would be your advice to the budding entrepreneurs and enthusiasts aspiring to venture into the senior care services niche? No matter how we serve this market, it all boil down to individual care. Never lose sight of the true objective—taking care of each person as you would your mother, father, friend, sister, or brother. The largest challenge presented in the initial phase of the pandemic was developing new protocols to ensure the safety of residents and personnel. We had to amend almost every aspect of our operations, and we revised these changes throughout the days, weeks, and months of the pandemic. From meal delivery to getting all personnel COVID tested weekly, we had to implement a new way to operate every day. How do you envision scaling Carnegie East House’s operations and offerings in 2021? At present, we will focus on improving our communities and elevating all facets of operations. We are planning a sizable renovation project and the addition of some exciting new amenities. Our operations and programming are constantly evolving to meet our resident’s new needs and to serve them better. With continuous technological development in the healthcare space, what is your prediction about the future of the senior care services market? As the demographic construct of ‘older adults’ evolves and more baby boomers age, we will have more technology 18 March 2023 www.insightscare.com

  20. An Overview Trends in Technology Technology for Enhancing Patient Outcomes Efficiency and A dvancements in technology have brought significant changes in the healthcare industry, improving efficiency and patient outcomes. With new and innovative technologies emerging at an ever- increasing pace, healthcare providers can offer patients more efficient and effective care. From telemedicine to wearables, technology transforms how healthcare is delivered and patient outcomes are achieved. patients to receive care without visiting a doctor's office or hospital. One of the main advantages of telemedicine is that it makes healthcare more accessible, especially for patients in rural or remote areas. Patients can receive care in their comfort homes without travelling long distances to see a doctor. Telemedicine can also reduce appointment wait times and the burden on healthcare facilities. Let's dive in to understand in detail! Wearables Telemedicine Wearable technology is increasingly becoming popular in recent years, with devices such as smartwatches and fitness trackers being used to monitor physical activity, heart rate and sleep patterns. But wearables are also used in healthcare settings to monitor patients' health and provide real-time feedback to healthcare providers. Telemedicine is the use of technology to deliver healthcare services remotely. This can include video consultations with doctors or nurses, remote patient vital signs monitoring, and even remote surgery. Telemedicine has been especially important during the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing 21 March 2023 www.insightscare.com

  21. For example, wearable devices can monitor patients' heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen levels, allowing healthcare providers to detect early signs of health problems before they become more serious. Wearables can also be used to monitor patients' medication adherence, ensuring they take their medications as prescribed. equipment is part of the da Vinci system, which also includes a console where the surgeon sits. Using a joystick and foot pedals, the surgeon can more precisely and precisely control the robotic arm during surgery. Virtual Reality Electronic Health Records Virtual reality (VR) technology is being used in healthcare to provide patients with immersive experiences that can help reduce pain and anxiety. VR can be used to distract patients during medical procedures, allowing them to focus on something other than the procedure itself. VR can also be used to provide patients with relaxation techniques, such as guided meditation. Electronic health records (EHRs) have existed for several years, but their use is becoming increasingly widespread in healthcare. EHRs are digital versions of patients' medical records, which can be accessed by healthcare providers from any location with an internet connection. EHRs have several advantages over paper-based medical records. They are more secure and less prone to errors, allowing healthcare providers to easily share information with other providers involved in a patient's care. EHRs also allow for more efficient care, as healthcare providers can quickly access a patient's medical history and make informed decisions about their treatment. One example of VR being used in healthcare is using VR headsets to distract children during painful medical procedures, such as injections or blood draws. VR can help reduce anxiety and make the procedure less stressful by providing a virtual environment for the child to explore. Blockchain Artificial Intelligence Blockchain technology is becoming increasingly popular in healthcare, particularly for its ability to securely store and share medical data. Blockchain is a decentralized digital ledger that records transactions securely and transparently. In healthcare, blockchain can be used to store medical records securely and share them with healthcare providers as needed. Healthcare could be transformed in a variety of ways by artificial intelligence (AI). In order to find patterns and trends that human analysts might not be able to see in massive amounts of medical data, AI can be employed. By doing so, healthcare professionals can create treatment programmes that are more successful and make more accurate diagnoses. One advantage of blockchain is that it gives patients greater control over their medical data. Patients can share their medical data with healthcare providers on a need-to-know basis, ensuring their privacy is protected. Blockchain can also help prevent medical identity theft, as each transaction is recorded and cannot be altered. A personalized treatment plan for each patient can be created using AI. AI algorithms can suggest treatments specifically suited to each patient's needs by looking at their genetic makeup, medical history, and other criteria. Robotics Conclusion Robots are being used in healthcare in a variety of ways. They can be used to perform surgical procedures, deliver medications, and even provide emotional support to patients. Smaller incisions, less scarring, and quicker recovery times are just a few advantages that robotic surgery has over conventional surgery. Technology has the potential to revolutionize healthcare, improving efficiency, reducing costs and enhancing patient outcomes. From telemedicine to wearables, artificial intelligence to robotics, technology is transforming healthcare delivery and making it more accessible to patients. As technology evolves, we can expect to see even more innovative solutions that improve healthcare and patients' lives. The da Vinci Surgical System, which gives surgeons more control and precision during minimally invasive procedures, is one instance of robotic technology being employed in healthcare. 22. Path The is Through Plate: The Link Between Food and Heart Health T path that starts on your plate. Yes, that's right! The food you eat plays a vital role in the health of your heart. Here, we will explore a topic that is at the forefront of our daily lives, yet often overlooked in the pursuit of modern medicine: the link between food and heart health. Diet and Nutrition in Cardiovascular Healthcare he saying "The way to your heart is through your stomach" may not be as true as you think. But it certainly is. How? So, let me guide you down the One of the most crucial ways to prevent cardiovascular disease is through a healthy diet. A balanced diet, full of fresh produce, whole grains, lean proteins and healthy fats can lower your risk of developing heart disease and enhance your general health. The consumption of fruits and vegetables is one of the essential elements of a heart-healthy diet. These foods are nutrient- and antioxidant-rich, which can aid in preventing damage to your heart and blood vessels. Additionally, they can aid in reducing inflammation, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels. At least 5 servings of fruit and vegetables should be consumed each day. A diet that is heart-healthy should also include whole grains. Due to their high fiber content, they may lower cholesterol and help with blood sugar regulation. Aim for three servings or more of whole grains per day, such as oatmeal, whole wheat bread and brown rice. A heart-healthy diet should also include lean proteins like fish, poultry and legumes. They have a low saturated fat content, which can lower cholesterol and lower your risk of heart disease. Salmon and tuna are excellent sources of omega-3 fatty acids, which can help to protect your heart, so try to eat at least two servings of fish per week. Have you ever questioned why some people seem to have an innate ability to maintain a healthy heart while others find it difficult to control their blood pressure? Is it a result of genetics, lifestyle, or something else entirely? As we delve deeper into the science behind heart health, we will discover that the path to a healthy heart may be simpler than we ever imagined. In fact, it may be as close as our next meal. Cardiovascular disease is a leading "cause of death" worldwide. While there are many factors that contribute to the development of heart disease, diet and nutrition are among the most important. So, join me on this journey as we explore the intricate web of connections between the food we eat and the health of our hearts. Together, we will uncover the secrets to a heart- healthy lifestyle and pave the way to a brighter and healthier future. Are you ready to take the first step? 24 March 2023 www.insightscare.com

  23. 5. Remain hydrated The diet should also include healthy fats like those in nuts, seeds and avocados. These fats can lower inflammation and raise cholesterol levels. Make avocado a regular part of your diet and aim for at least 1-2 servings of nuts or seeds per day, such as almonds or chia seeds. NOTE: Servings of food groups differ from person to person depending on their intake and requirements. Steps to Improve Your Heart Health Through Diet A balanced diet full of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats is one way to improve your heart health, but there are other things you can do. 1. Limit your intake of processed and high-fat foods Enough water consumption can lower your risk of heart disease and keep your blood vessels healthy. Drink at least 8 glasses of water each day, and steer clear of beverages with added sugars or too much caffeine. Our food choices play a crucial role in the health of our hearts, and small changes in our diet can lead to significant improvements in our cardiovascular health. In addition to eating a healthy diet, it's important to limit your intake of processed and high-fat foods, reduce your intake of sugar and salt, watch your portion sizes and stay hydrated. Making these changes to your diet can be challenging, but they are important for your overall health and well-being. Start by making small changes to your diet, such as adding more fruits and vegetables, switching to whole grains and cutting back on sugary drinks. Over time, these small changes can add up to significant improvements in your heart health. It's also essential to note that the link between food and heart health is not a one-time fix. It's a lifelong journey that requires commitment, consistency and patience. Regular exercise, stress management and not smoking are also important for reducing your risk of heart disease. By taking steps to improve your diet and lifestyle, you can improve your heart health and reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease. So, let's continue to make conscious choices about the food we eat and strive towards a healthier heart. Remember, the path to a healthy heart is through the plate, and it's never too late to start. The consumption of processed foods that are high in fat and sodium can raise your risk of heart disease. Choose whole, unprocessed foods that are low in sodium and saturated fat instead. 2. Reduce your sugar intake Consuming excessive amounts of sugar can raise your risk of developing type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity, all of which are risk factors for heart disease. Limit your intake of sweetened beverages, desserts and snacks in favor of fresh fruit or naturally sweetened alternatives. 3. Cut back on the salt Increasing your blood pressure by consuming too much salt can increase your risk of developing heart disease. Avoid adding salt to your food and limit your intake of salty foods. Instead, experiment with flavoring your meals with herbs and spices. 4. Observe portion sizes Overeating can result in weight gain, which raises your risk of developing heart disease. Be mindful of your serving sizes and try to eat until you are satisfied rather than stuffed. 26 March 2023 www.insightscare.com

  27. What is your opinion on the effects of the current pandemic on the healthcare sector, and what challenges did your company face during the initial phase of the pandemic? I feel the healthcare and senior housing industry came together as a group like no other industry. The communities and facilities were taking care of the most vulnerable, our aging population. They shared ideas and embraced technology while taking the safety of the residents to a new level. Our business was briefly impacted at the beginning of the pandemic because families were reluctant to move their loved ones to senior communities because they were on lockdown, which meant families were not able to visit. As families realized they were not able to care for their loved ones at home as well as a community, they trusted the communities to do what they do best, care for the aging population with their trained staff. The business was back to normal in September 2020, when the Governor directed the Health and Human Services Commission to open visitation options, allowing up to two trained essential family caregivers to visit their loved ones in their rooms to help ensure their physical, social and emotional needs were being met. Our process on how we worked with families and communities was impacted longer, as we usually consult and tour with our clients face to face. Still, we had to rely on technology virtual tours and consultations until we were able to visit in person with the families again. pursuing and know the ins and outs. Being an elderly advocate doesn't have a schedule and can be demanding, so be prepared to be available when the time is needed, it may take away from personal time, but it's so rewarding. With continuous technological development in the healthcare space, what is your prediction about the future of senior care services? How do you envision scaling your company's operations and offerings in 2023? Ruby Care will continue educating our advisors and achieve certifications to continue to provide unsurpassed quality service to our clients. Staying current with the ever- changing health care environment and senior living trends will ensure that Ruby Care maintains its leading edge. We will continue building brand recognition and growing our team. As technology evolves, Ruby Care offers increased access to information and ease of communication. As baby boomers age and seek senior living options, I expect the movement toward technology to increase. "Smart Aging," which refers to Artificial Intelligence, will continue to expand. Telehealth will be more universal in communities as well as Virtual Reality (VR). As an established leader, what would be your advice to the budding entrepreneurs and enthusiasts aspiring to venture into the senior care services niche? The Senior Living Industry is greatly expanding; it's an industry on the rise. Ruby Care set itself apart by doing business in an altruistic way from the rest demonstrated by phenomenal growth since its inception in 2016. You must make sure you have a passion for caring for the elderly. Do your research on the senior niche you are 30 March 2023 www.insightscare.com

  31. Habits Creating For Mind,Soul & Body Written by: DT. Muskan barmare L that making wiser and healthier choices is a step ahead for better existence. “ et's try to quit smoking this year!" or "I am going to start exercising and eat better soon" are common and often said by most of us. We know To find the balance required to develop habits towards gratified living, we must nourish the three parts that make up our whole being. As someone who preaches about eating balanced with creating uniformity between your mind, body and soul would like to share a few objectives. It's a truism that we all want to live long, successful, happy & healthy lives! Unfortunately, our definition of success makes us take shortcuts with our health. Yes, it's not easy to break bad habits, but when it comes to building healthy habits, small decisions add up over time. Of course, the goal is not to do everything on the list, but starting with a few ideas to nourish your whole self and most importantly, the first step to changing your behaviour is to create an awareness around what you do regularly. It can be anything from watching screens while eating to just joining a friend for a smoke break even when you don't want a cigarette. Though many of us live stressful lives with just a little tweaking here and there, we can yet thrive on habits that will help us live healthier and more productive lives. It is said, "The best defense is a good offense." Fine long- term health is a result of a good offense- proactive, preventive and wholesome choices that would have an impact on your well-being today, tomorrow, and beyond. Good health doesn't just come along, it's a result of consistent healthy habits. So, for a breath of fresh air in your life, here are ways to: 1. Nourishing Your Mind: Practice Mindfulness Ÿ Mindfulness is a most effective and an important practice to infuse more calm into your life. Being mindful encourages you to enjoy the little and happy moments of life and appreciate them. Did you know? It just takes 21 days to develop a new habit, be it any, good or bad. A positive new practice will not only boost your ability to create and sustain a healthy lifestyle but also nourish your mind, soul and body to grow. What do you think mindfulness is exactly? It is the basic human potential to be fully present, aware and not overly reactive by what's going around us. Lately, we all have been feeling a tad bit burnt out with so many things going on around us. There can be ample reasons why one is feeling this way, either you haven't got enough sleep or the right nutrition or are just too lazy to move out of your comfort zone. But don't we just sometimes crave for a feeling of waking up refreshed every morning with a bright attitude towards life. Want to feel clear – headed and ready to take on the day. Is it practicable? Definitely, yes! Mindfulness is something which we would think it's difficult to inculcate but it's what actually is readily available to us when we practice on a daily basis. Some basic of mindfulness practice are: Set aside some time for yourself Observe the present moment Let your judgments roll by Be kind to your wandering mind Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ After all, our health is not one-dimensional. I honestly believe that we need to look at our health and well-being from a holistic perspective. 36 March 2023 www.insightscare.com

  32. Detox from Technology 3. Nourishing Your Soul: Ÿ We have engrossed ourselves so much in technology that we forget that there is an entire world beyond the internet. Connect with others Ÿ Connecting with friends and family physically had been on hold for a long time due to this global pandemic. As we resume in one's own good time, let's reconnect with others and own ones. My new word for 2022 would be "reconnecting". This means actually reaching out to people, making plans, going somewhere out, new and exploring! Switch things up to make life interesting. As for how we detox ourselves to cleanse our system occasionally, let's induce a habit to cleanse our minds and take a screen break once a while. It can be one-day free from your laptops or even just techno-free time at night. Calm your mind Ÿ Quieting your mind is very important in reducing stress. The most effective way to calm your mind is writing your thoughts down on paper before bed or meditating in the morning. Make it a priority to quiet your mind at least once a day. Declutter Ÿ "Let Go!" set free the things that no longer need to take up space in your life. Orderly decluttering is good for the soul. It's important to understand that 'things will be if they are meant to, don't force upon it'. Learn something new Ÿ When Netflix is calling your name, it's difficult to make time for other creative activities such as reading books, enjoying a hobby that you love or instead watching TED talks. Create a healthy balance between the amount of time you are spending watching tv vs reading. Set a specific time to do something productive and stick to it. Say NO Ÿ Remember that no is a full sentence. You don't have to agree to everything and everyone all the time. You don't have to justify yourself for not wanting to do something which you don't want. It's completely okay to not be okay. Give yourself permission to relax Ÿ Relax? Really? There is no time for that. It's hard, right? But it's so important to value your body's recovery period. Do not over-drain your mind, soul and body. Making sure you're maintaining a good balance between productivity and rest. 2. Nourishing Your Body: Embrace slow movement Ÿ Our bodies are made to move and sometimes our body craves slow movement, like yoga or going for a walk. We have a mindset that in order to make a workout worth it we need to sweat, instead it's okay with taking it slow and not feeling the need to 'sweat' every time you work out. As we come to the end of this blog, we've all experienced moments where we've been overwhelmed by gratitude or even moved to tears. It's a powerful feeling, and It's a feeling of appreciation and thankfulness. As important it is to foster habits which are beneficial for oneself, it is also essential to be grateful for the life you live every day. To feel obliged is to feel joyful, warm and blessed. Eat more veggies and fruits Ÿ We all know the benefits of consuming nature's food i.e., colorful fruits and vegetables, giving us various vitamins, minerals, antioxidants. Talking about it is different and actually doing it is another story. Try finding ways to include veggies in your daily meals, smoothies, snacks, oat meals etc. Eat at least 7-10 servings daily. For a healthy and happy life, make it a habit to count your blessings. Some people try to keep a daily gratitude journal; others find it's easy enough to maintain a mental tally of their blessings. Care for your skin Ÿ Skin care is an essential as well as satisfying routine which one can include in their daily habits. Not only does it help with your complexion, but a skincare ritual can also allow you time to relax and unwind for the day. What are your thoughts about this? Did this post give you some ideas to refresh and restart your life's journey? I hope this has inspired you and finds more balance every day. I'd love to know your thoughts, comment below and let me know which is the habit which would be creating a 'New You'. Get more sleep Ÿ Sleep is one of the biggest factors to build our energy levels throughout the day. A good and deep sleep and deep breaths are like little love notes to your body, so make sure you cherish it well and get your 8 hours of sleep daily with a well-designed bedtime schedule. Note: You don't create habits, habits create YOU! 38 March 2023 www.insightscare.com
