On The Hunt For Quality Los Angeles Furniture Stores Sometimes it seems as if you can find anything in LA. Angelinos know where to get the best produce and the newest electronics. We know where to see the latest bands or rub elbows with celebrities. Maybe this is one of the things that makes those who visit never want to leave. But not everything in Los Angeles is so easily accessible. When I moved to Los Angeles I soon learned that finding quality furniture was actually one of the most difficult challenges. Not that there aren’t furniture stores in LA, but it seems that Los Angeles furniture stores are not always what they are cracked up to be. Perhaps due to the micro cultures or the economy, those of us who take the time to try and find quality furniture often realize that a lot of what is sold as luxury or quality is only skin deep. A re-stained wooden chair from the 60s shouldn’t cost $1000 dollars, a coffee table made from branches and a sheet of glass shouldn’t cost $2000 regardless of who “designed” it. Sometimes I wonder if the concept of quality is something that Los Angeles left in the past. I realized after visiting a handful of LA furniture stores that modern can mean a number of things, and often it is not synonymous with quality.
So I brainstormed and tried to think of how I could get my hands on something that would meet my standards and worth what I would need to shell out for it at LA prices. I finally happened upon a trendy shop near Hollywood that had a small Italian furniture section. And I immediately noticed a difference in quality as well as presentation. They didn’t have what I wanted but they had at least pointed me in the right direction. I Yelped for more Italian themed Los Angeles furniture stores and that is when I came across Italy 2000. They had two locations that were close to our apartment and I was happy to find one right on La Brea near Hollywood. They have designer Italian furniture that was some of the best I had found in LA and the staff was kind and eager to help me find exactly what I wanted. They offered to make custom orders if I needed something specific but I found what I was looking for in the showroom and they delivered it the very next day. I probably spent a good 2 hours wandering through their collections and I discovered a number of fantastic Italian furniture designers that I had never heard about. I found a great set of bedroom furniture from the ALF collection. It’s great quality and is in superb condition since my visit about a year or a year and a half ago.
All in all I am extremely satisfied with my experience at Italy2000 and I would highly recommend the store to anyone looking for finer Los Angeles furniture stores, or just for a single stylish piece that will hold up through the years and look great. The Italy 2000 close to me is on La Brea and Melrose, but I know they have a couple more, I think they said there is one on the west side and one in the valley. Anyway, long story short; quality furniture is hard to find, Italian furniture was a good option for me, and I found it at Italy 2000. Hope it helps somebody.
