The wine portfolio offers wines under three labels.
Firstly, the La Lune and En Soleil label showcases wines that are terroir- expressive. The Biodynamic method was introduced by Austrian Dr Rudolph Steiner in the 1920s. In this method, the whole vineyard is viewed as a single organism and instead of chemical fertilizers and herbicides natural composts are used. It takes organic methods to another level and is a holistic way to keep the vineyards healthy.
There is a whole biodynamic calendar according to which the whole vineyard activity is time specific. It’s divided into four categories—fruit days, root days, flower days and leaf days. In fruit days are for harvesting, root days for pruning, on flower days leave the vineyard alone and on leaf days water the vines. In biodynamic viticulture, cow horns are filled with special compost material and buried for a period. Then this special material is used spread in the vineyard, fertilizing it. Same cow horns are used for another cycle and this way the natural health of the vineyard is taken care of.
That was all on Cape Jaffa Wines! We hope you found the information worth your time. Get these wines made from biodynamic methods and share your experience with us. You can buy wine online and enjoy with your friends and family.
