  1. DESTINATION MANAGEMENT COMPANY Incentive Programmes – Meetings – Conferences Seminars – Product Launches – Special Events COSTA DE LA LUZ– Waiting to be discovered... The “Costa de la Luz” is situated on the Atlantic Ocean near the border with Portugal, linking the provinces of Huelva (Isla Canela) and Cadiz (Sancti Petri). It is at the far western side of Andalusia separated from Seville by extensive plains which have discouraged the influx of mass tourism to the area. Here you will still find wonderful unspoilt isolated beaches and natural beauty. The National Park of Doñana in the Delta of the Guadalquivir River is the largest natural protected area in the whole of Europe and is a major destination for migratory birds coming down from Northern Europe to spend the winter. The largest city, Huelva, has for millennia been a place of cultural exchange and diverse civilisations with ruins dating back to between 3000BC and 2500BC. Remains have been found from the ancient port of Tartesoss which features in classic Greek literature as one of the most important strategic cities of the ancient world. The city was probably built by Phoenicians around 1000BC and would, in those days, have been at the centre of the most inhabited area of the peninsula. To the north of this area is the Sierra de Aracena which stretches up to the province of Seville. This is another wildlife wonderland full of migratory birds and roaming goat herds. Along the coast there are some excellent properties suitable for conference and incentive groups including the beautiful five star deluxe Meliá Sancti Petri and the magnificent Punto Umbria Beach Resort which has over 1,000 bedrooms and a state of the art conference centre.
