  3. File System • A way to organize files • In windows, there is a concept of folder (and subfolder) • A folder contains a list of items • Items could be • Files (programs, data files) • Other folders • Shortcuts • Folders can be nested under each other to form a tree-like structure.

  4. Windows Explorer • Right window • Content of current folder • Icons, details, • Left window • Common tasks or • Folders (tree structures) • For quick navigation

  5. Left pane of Windows Exploer • Plus Sign (+) Indicates Folders That Contain Folders • Click on Plus Sign to Expand Tree • Minus Sign (-) Indicates Expanded Folder • Click on Folder Name to Open and Display Contents on the Right Side • Click on Next Folder to Close Previous Folder
