  7. A spirit is: • “Spiritus” (Latin) - literally breath, an animating or vital principle held to give life to physical organisms.” Webster • xwr - Ruach (Hebrew) – “wind, breath, mind, spirit” (Hebrew4Christians.com) • A driving or compelling force

  8. A soul is: • The immaterial essence or actuating cause of an individual life (Webster) • “vPn” - Nephesh (Hebrew) – life, vital breath, soul, self, or mind

  9. What happens to a persons soul when they die? Do they get wings and become an angel?

What does the bible say? “Furthermore, men are afraid of a high place and of terrors on the road; the almond tree blossoms, the grasshopper drags himself along, and the caperberry is ineffective. For man goes to his eternal home while mourners go about in the street. Remember Him before the silver cord is broken and the golden bowl is crushed, the pitcher by the well is shattered and the wheel at the cistern is crushed; then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.” Ecclesiastes 12:5-7 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.   11. We can safely identify Four Types of Spirits • The Holy Spirit • The Human Spirit • Angels (messengers from God) • Fallen Angels (messengers of Satan) – or demons

The Condition of Fallen Angels • They are condemned and irreconcilable • The Lake of Fire is inevitable & constantly before them • They were created and deeply loved by God • They will never again know His acceptance and love • They work against the establishment of the Kingdom of God • They would destroy everything if they could • They find some measure of pleasure in tormenting people and destroying lives • They hate the names of “God” • They hate worship • They hate unconditional love, mercy, humility & forgiveness • They hate righteous living • They hate Israel • They hate the presence of Jesus

Their herdsmen ran away and reported it in the city and in the country. And the people came to see what it was that had happened. They came to Jesus and observed the man who had been demon-possessed sitting down, clothed and in his right mind, the very man who had had the "legion"; and they became frightened. Those who had seen it described to them how it had happened to the demon-possessed man, and all about the swine. And they began to implore Him to leave their region.”Mark 5:1-17

Bring him to Me!" They brought the boy to Him. When he saw Him, immediately the spirit threw him into a convulsion, and falling to the ground, he began rolling around and foaming at the mouth. And He asked his father, "How long has this been happening to him?" And he said, "From childhood. "It has often thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, take pity on us and help us!"
