  8. COLOMBIA MONTES DE MARIA This PAZ encompasses parts of the departments of Bolívar, Córdoba, and Sucre in northern Colombia. The area is hot, tropical, and characterized by low hills. Principal ethnic groups are Ladino-Mestizo and Afro-Colombian, with some indigenous groups. LWR’s Work in Latin America

  15. EL SALVADOR VALLE DE LA ESPERANZA This PAZ covers 10 rural municipalities in the departments of Usulután and San Miguel. The PAZ is in “coffee country” that is under increasing environmental stress due to deforestation. The main ethnic group is Ladino/ Mestizo. LWR’s Work in Latin America

  18. HONDURAS MOSQUITIA This PAZ covers parts of three national parks or reserves that form the “green heart” of the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor. The ZAP includes three municipalities in the departments of Olancho and Gracias a Dios, part of the Honduran Mosquitia. The main ethnic groups are Ladino/Mestizo and Tawahka.   21. NICARAGUA COFFEE ROUTE This PAZ encompasses coffee-producing, hilly areas of the departments of Matagalpa and Jinotega , as well as cocoa-producing areas around Waslala in the North Atlantic Autonomous Region (RAAN). The main ethnic group is Ladino/Mestizo. LWR’s Work in Latin America
