To spot a Bengal tiger in this forest is a challenge due to the abundance of foliage – camouflage – in the reserve. Thick jungle, the Ramganga River and plentiful prey makes this reserve a haven for tigers. The tigers in the park are quite skilled and can kill much larger animals such as buffalo and even elephant for food. This happens only when there are cases of food shortage. There have also been incidents of tigers attacking domestic animals in times of shortage of prey.
