What is a Curriculum Vitae? • “CV” or “Vitae” is like a resume: • Is a comprehensive, biographical statement emphasizing your professional qualifications and activities. • Should include your name, contact information, education, skills and experience. • Should be three or more pages in length. When it is appropriate to use? • Should only be used when requested: • Applications for admission to Graduate or Professional Schools. • Applications for academia: • School Administration • Institutional research and consulting • Higher education positions in teaching, research, and administration • Independent consulting in a variety of setting • Proposals for fellowships or grants Jolene Miyaji
