IN THE MEDICAL FIELD • Technology developed by NASA includes digital hearing aids, miniature heart pumps, breast cancer screening, balance evaluation, LASIK eye surgery, bone analysis, blood diagnostic equipment, ear thermometer, heart surgery, dental wire, chromosome analysis, prosthesis material, etc.

For Grades K-3….. • Students participated in a presentation introducing them to NASA programs
In the Upper Elementary Classroom …… • Students used pictures taken by the Hubble Telescope of the planets in our solar system and place them in the proper order
In the Middle School …. • Students used satellite images to help locate locations on a regular map and measured distances.
At the High School Level…. • In the technology and health classes, students were shown how astronauts are kept cool during space walks and how space technology is used in battling and curing breast cancer
