  3. Step #1: Avoiding Test Panic • Put all tests in your time scheduler. • Use a “To-Do List” every day. • Adopt a 5-Day Study Plan for all courses and tests. 2

  5. Step #3: THE TEST! • Do the easy ones first. Anticipate the answer. • Go through the answers a second time and check for the verbs and nouns. • Go through the answers a final time and change them if you have a good reason.

  11. Step #4: LASSI • Check the scores on your LASSI, especially the ANX, TMT, and TST scales. • Answer these questions: • What is your analysis of the skills you have? • What do you want to improve on? • What strategies are you going to use to do this?

  18. Assistance with grammar clues does not occur that often. Instructors often put “a/an” at the end of a sentence so that you cannot tell. However, if it does work, take the points!

  19. You should analyze each test for each course, however, to determine if this test tip is a valid one. It does not work all of the time.

  20. There are specific words that can signal a possible answer. • These are words that allow for exceptions. • Examples are: most, generally, may, sometimes, usually, some, can, few, often, occasionally, many, frequently, probably.

  21. Why are gene mutations in an individual usually not noticed? A. The normal gene from the other parent usually masks the mutated gene. B. The individual becomes adapted to the mutated gene. C. Individuals with mutated genes always die before birth. D. “Counter mutation” genes fix the damage caused by the mutated genes.

  27. Test questions with the words NOT or EXCEPT: • These need to be read carefully to insure that you get the full meaning of the question. • Take the following example:

  29. You must know the information to get this answer correct. However, so that you understand what is being asked, you need to read the question carefully. A. Logging B. Fires C. Meadows D. Deer ticks
