It comes under the moderate physical activity. The amount of calories you burn while walking depends upon your weight and the distance you walk. The more the weight and distanced covered by walking , the more than calories burned. For example a 70 kg man walking at the speed of 4-5 kilometers per hour will lose 280 calories in 1 hr whereas 80 kg man at same speed and covering same distance will lose more calories. Cycling is a good form of exercise for children which combines exercise with play. So encourage your child to cycle.
