  2. Unpack the printer and take out the printer supplies such as power cord, software installation disc, user guide, and ink cartridges. Remove the protective tapes from the printer.  Connect the printer to an electrical outlet using the supplied power cord and power up the printer.  Unpack the ink cartridges. Shake them gently to distribute the ink evenly.  Install the ink cartridges into the printer. Pull out the paper input tray and load a stack of plain white paper into it.
