  1. How to Face Paint – Different Face Painting Techniques SUMMARY: Find out how to use white face paint for your sessions. Learn more techniques, so you can get the results you want. Text Face painting is becoming popular at many parties, both for adults and kids alike. It’s also a creatively challenging hobby. Whether you want to use it for work or fun, learning how to paint faces seems like a good idea. Here are some techniques that you’ll want to explore as a beginner. Once you master these instructions, you can move on to more advanced techniques. Use a Sponge When you’re face painting kids, you’ll need to be quick. Applying paints with a brush isn’t the best way. That’s where sponges come in handy. You’ll need to use asponge. That’s the fastest and easiest way to spread the color on your cheeks. It’s also what you’ll often use when you apply foundation. Blend Colors If you’re missing some colors in your kit, no worries. You can use a sponge to blend colors. Mixing white face paint with a variety of colors will give you plenty of hues and shades. Red plus white will give you pink, for instance. Black and white will give you gray. Discover all the other colors that you’ll get when you combine all the paints you have. Pay attention to the color wheel, so you’ll know what to expect.

  2. Stock Up on White You’ll want to make sure you have more than enough white and black face paints, though. That’s because both are the most useful. They’re perfect as outlines, which emphasize the face design. If you want to keep practicing your face painting, you’ll need to have plenty of black and white paint supplies. That way, you won’t have to worry about running out. Leave the Sponge Wet The sponge needs to be slightly wet to absorb as much of the color as possible. Be sure to squeeze out any excess water, though, before you rub the sponge against the color cake or paint. When it’s time to apply the paint to your face, tap the sponge lightly against your skin instead of swiping it across the surface. Then to blend, do the same with another sponge with a different color. Once you have that second color, you can tap it on top of the first one. They should automatically start to blend. Work with Layers If you are working with layers of color instead of blending the hues together, though, you’ll need to let the first layer dry first. If you don’t, attempting to paint over that will only leave you with a mess. That will mean more time since you’ll need to start again. Avoid these mistakes when you start doing face painting sessions. Get Stencils Stencils are your best friend. Good stencils help you create the effects, touches, and designs as quickly as possible. Since that’s a factor when you do face painting, especially for kids, you’ll need tostock up on stencils with the most popular designs. With stencils, you won’t need to slave over the details. You can get many of your face designs done in no time. Start trying out stencils until you find your favorites.
