Application Process The application process for each of the above types of visas is more or less the same. • Employer submits the I-129 or the petition for a work permit to USCIS.• Employer may also be required to obtain a labor certification from the Department of Labor. • Employee provides supporting documents such as copies of experience certificates, educational credentials, proof of foreign citizenship and proof of birth, all of which will be submitted as part of the I-129 package.• USCIS approves, denies or requests additional information after processing the I-129 petition. • If the petition is approved, then the applicant may use the approval notice to schedule a visa interview at the designated US consulate in his country. • The applicant must pay a fee of $190 and also provide supporting documents such as a valid passport, visa application and photos. • The applicant attends the visa interview at the Consulate and gets the visa stamped on the passport.
