Program Problem Intra Uterine Contraceptive Device (IUCD) is under utilized in comparison with other methods due to: • Inadequate knowledge • Socio-cultural barriers – myths • Limited availability of services
Objective of the Study To determine whether increasing access to IUCD by training service providers in insertion, removal and counseling and promoting knowledge and addressing socio-cultural myths through community mobilization, increases new acceptors of IUCD.
Methodology – Study Design Time series 01 012 X 013 024 12m* 12 m * Intervention start time may vary by site, though each site will be assessed 12 months pre and 12 months post. Data for months 1-12 will be collected retrospectively; for months 13-24, prospectively.
