  2. Coral Reefs • In General • Made from coral larva polyps attaching to a solid surface, reproducing, and leaving an exoskeleton.

  3. Coral Reefs • They are like other cnidarians in these ways: • Live in salt water • Carnivores • Polyp shaped body with tentacles • Use chemicals for defense • Reproduce asexually and sexually

  4. Coral Reefs • Some other facts include: • Delicate • Can’t live in temperatures below 70F. • Will die if water levels rise too high for light to reach them. • Can be very old: some are 100 million years old
