  4. 1) AUTHORITY:Who is the author? • Is there any information about the author? • Does the author provide an e-mail address? • Is there an “About Us” or “Home” link? • Does the author list his/her credentials?

  5. 2) ACCURACY:Is the information accurate? • Can it be verified by using another source? • Is it relevant to your topic? • Does the author indicate where she/he found the information? • Are there spelling or grammar mistakes?

  6. 3) CURRENCY:Is the information current? • Can you tell when the website was created? • Can you tell when the website was last updated? • Are there broken links? • Does your topic require up-to-date information?

  7. 4) OBJECTIVITY:Is the information biased? • Is it trying to persuade you to another point of view? • Is it trying to persuade you to buy a product? • Look at the domain name: .edu, .gov., .com, .net • Is this someone’s personal page? Is there a tilde (~) in the address?

  8. 5) CONTENT:Is the information relevant? • Is it well organized? • Does the web site have a site map? • Is the information easy to understand? • Is it helpful to you?
