Recess • 10:00– 10:15 a.m. • Played a game of 4 square

Total Calories from Rewards 1,817 calories
Rewards Add Up • The total calories consumed, in addition to breakfast, lunch, and dinner, was around 1,820 calories. • These extra calories added up quickly and this is just from rewards!!!! • Everyone had good intentions to reward this student, but no one knew that she had been rewarded all day long.
What Can YOU Do? • Ask children what types of rewards they want - you may be surprised to find that food is the last thing they want. • Try offering rewards that get them moving more, like playing a game of basketball. • Offer rewards that will foster learning, such as a new book or a trip to the library.
