Setup Recommendations The General Options menu displays Scroll to highlight Hide Filed Messages. Click with the Trackball and select Yes. (This hides your Junk/Spam folder and other non-Inbox messages) Scroll to highlight Hide Sent Messages. Click with the Trackball and select Yes. (This prevents Sent Messages from appearing on the main screen.) Click Escape to exit.

Setup Recommendations The Email Reconciliation menu displays Scroll to highlight Delete On:. Click the Trackball to change the setting to Mailbox & Handheld. (Now when you delete messages on your Blackberry they are deleted in your Outlook.) Click Escape to exit then click Save to save the changes.

Setup Recommendations Profiles allow you to control the ring tones and vibrate settings for phone calls, text messages, e-mails, meeting reminders, etc. Scroll with the Trackball to highlight Advanced... Click the Trackball to select.

Setup Recommendations From a Profiles sub-menu you can change the notification settings for various types of messages/calls you receive. Let’s change the Messages[Desktop] which are your Outlook e-mails. Scroll to highlight Messages[Desktop]. Click the Trackball to select it for editing.
Setup Recommendations You can have different settings based on the Blackberry being in or out of its carrying case (holster). Select your own preferences. It is recommended you set the volume to Mute for e-mail since you receive so many through out the day. Click the Escape key to exit and save. You will need to check/change the preferences for other message types, especially Phone calls.
