15. 15 In Person Authentication In-Person Authentication (IPA) is a process used to verify a My HealtheVet (MHV) user's identity
Before In Person Authentication can occur, several requirements must be met:
The user must be registered as a VA patient in their My HealtheVet account
The user must view the MHV Orientation Video
The user must download, read and sign the VA Form 10-5345a (PDF)
The user must present a form of government issued photo identification to a qualified VA staff member at their VA facility to be physically proofed

seven day delay starting with the day that the lab
test was completed and results were reported.
During the seven day delay, providers can review
results with patients prior to the information being
made available on My HealtheVet

59. 59 FOIA/Privacy Act Reporting The first time a veteran signs in and requests labs it will be logged as a Freedom of Information Act Request
Subsequent times when the veteran signs in it will be logged as a Privacy Act Request
All Privacy Officers and HIMS managers will be able to view FOIA/Privacy Act reports.
The reports are intended to validate what is going on with local users.
Reporting for the national FOIA report will be done from a national level.

MHV 8.1.2
The My HealtheVet Flag will appear on the toolbar of the coversheet of authenticated veterans with this release. This is the MPI Sync aspect of In Person Authentication
62. 62 My HealtheVet Flag When a veteran is authenticated in My HealtheVet, MHV sends an HL7 message to the MPI indicating the patient has a new Treating Facility- My HealtheVet.
This message is sent after the veteran is authenticated in the In Person Authentication Admin Portal, resulting in the flag displaying
