Overview • Provide service training for franchisee personnel on SUBWAY® approved equipment • Individual training regiments designed by equipment manufacturers • Training open to all franchisee personnel meeting requirements • Purpose: • Help service technicians become proficient in maintenance and service of SUBWAY® equipment • Give franchisees opportunity to maximize the value of their service personnel • Three training levels: • Preventative Maintenance • Qualified Service Agent • Authorized Service Agent (Warranty Work Qualified)
Preventative Maintenance Requirements • Open to all Franchisees, managers and service technicians • No special requirements, but the ability to use tools is needed and mechanical aptitude is a plus
Qualified Service Agent Requirements • Requirements vary by manufacturer and may include some or all of the following: • Mechanical aptitude • Certified Technician by the manufacturer (classes are available online in most cases) • Licensed and Insured business • Qualified Mechanic • Able to diagnose and understand system operation • EPA Certification Level 2 • State licensed or CFESA certified refrigeration service co. • Familiarity with electric and refrigeration theory • EPA Certified Recovery Line 1 and 2
Authorized Service Agent Requirements • Qualifications vary by manufacturer • These training session are set up through the manufacturer on a specialized basis
Vendor Participation • All vendors should have submitted an outline of the training programs by convention • Outlines for all three levels of training are required, though some of the manufacturers may not certify for warranty service • Opportunities for coordinated training sessions with multiple manufacturers • Participating vendors
Duration of Training Classes • Preventative Maintenance • Onsite training typically 1-2 hours • Web-ex training 45 minutes-1.5 hours • Qualified Service Agent • Duration varies by manufacturer • Most are 1.5 to 2.5 hours • Others can last 6-8 hours • Authorized Service Agent • Training needs to be set up with supplier or manufacturer
Training Locations • Manufacturer’s facility • Local distributor facility • Web-ex seminars • SUBWAY® Convention • Franchisee Meeting at hotels/convention centers/DA offices
