Detail Drawings • A drawing of each individual part that clearly reveals all details • One part per sheet • Purchased parts not drawn • Components • Every feature clearly dimensioned • Tolerance specified for every dimension • Material specifications • Finishing and surface treatment specs. • Drawing Information (Part name, number, date, drawn by, revision number, etc.)
Assembly Drawings • May use one or several views (multiview, pictorial, section, exploded, detail view, etc.) to clearly show how parts are assembled and interact. • Dimensions and tolerances between parts are given (specified gaps, orientation, torque, etc.) • Hidden lines are often omitted • Individual parts are identified with balloon tags
Bill of Materials • A list of all parts needed for an assembly • Includes all parts manufactured and purchased • Includes balloon tag reference number, part name, part number, quantity, and material
