Setup Domain Mapping for WordPress Multi-site In this article, we will show you how to setup domain mapping for WordPress Multi-site. Firstly, you must have your WordPress Multi-site up and running For example - example.com(primary domain) - abc.com
Step-1 Point your domain name to the correct DNS and Create Add-on Domain You may try this, by using converting the Name Servers (NS settings) to your abc.com to be those to your c-Panel account, they’re also seen from your Web Host Face customer location (My Account -> manage). Then we’ll upload abc.com as an Add-on domain via your c-Panel and feature its root directory to be public_html. For this we’ll navigate to c-Panel -> Add-on domain names and input the following: ●New Domain Name: abc.com ●Subdomain: (default) abc.example.com ●Document Root: public_html
Step 2 – WordPress Dashboard for the Multi-site setup After your abc.com has its name servers and Add-on domain settings adjusted we’ll go to your WordPress Dashboard for the Multi-site. From the Dashboard we’ll navigate to: ●Dashboard -> My Sites (on the top left) -> Network Admin -> Sites This web page holds all of our sites which might be linked to the Multi-site. For our
instance we've the following two sites: example.com example.com/map Step 3 – Set Up Domain Mapping Mouse-over example.com/map -> Edit -> Change Site Address (URL) from http://example.com/map/ to http://abc.com/
That’s all that we should do, now our abc.com will open the content of the example.com/map sub-site. Thanks for staying till end. PLEASE VISIT US https://www.wpcustomerservice.com/ OR CALL US AT 1-800-556-3577 (US-CANADA)
