Thomas Verner was born in Dundee, IL to a father who was a carpenter and a mother who was a teacher. Even as a child, he was always fascinated by the world of illusion and magic. He recalls a time when he was 6 years old, and his grandfather took him to a carnival that displayed all sorts of unique and interesting things including circus animals, fortune tellers, and magic shows. It was here that he had got his first glimpse into the wonderful world of magic.
Magic is the act of making people believe that what they are seeing is supernatural or impossible. Types of magic include producing something from nothing, making something disappear, destroying something and then restoring it, levitation, prediction, transforming something from one state to another, and more.
From then on, Thomas Verner began to read books about magic. First he would just go to the local library, and spend hours reading and then come home to try them out. Then when he was a little better, he began to try in front of his family. When he realized that he could actually do it, he began to practice even more to perfect his skills and refine his talent.
When he was 15 years old, he attended a State Magicians Conference in Des Plaines, IL. Here he met his mentor, Jules Nesmoore, who played a significant role in Thomas’s deep understanding of magic and illusion. Although he was already good, when Jules took Thomas under his wing, he transformed into a magician worthy of performing on stage.
For 4 years he mentored and tutored him in the art of magic. During this time Thomas spent even more time reading complicated books with difficult tricks. He practiced and perfected the techniques used to execute these tricks. Currently, Thomas is a performer in Las Vegas with his own magic show.
