  1. Effects of a Diet on the Child’s Teeth As a parent, what your child is eating is a major cause of concern. The most common problem that parents come up with at children dental clinicis tooth decay. Your child’s diet affects the health of their teeth more than you think. Feeding your child with the right quality of food is going to be key when it comes to healthy teeth. Let us quickly go through the do’s and don'ts. Do’s ● Calcium Intake Calcium not only helps to strengthen the bones but also teeth. Calcium can be taken through a variety of sources like milk, broccoli, cheese, meat, etc. As long as the child is feeding on vegetables and high calcium concentrated food, the gum diseases are going to be at a distance. ● Fruits and Vegetables Choose fruits and vegetables that contain high volumes of water. Fruits like pear, melons and vegetables like cucumber, etc have high water content. Water does not harm teeth and the body and also helps get more nutrients. Don’ts ● Limit Snacks The time between meals allows the saliva to clear away the bacteria and continuous snacking allows the bacteria to feed and cause tooth decay and infections. Don’t let the child eat too many snacks. Replace the snacks with healthy food and allow eating at proper intervals. ● Avoid Sticky Food Raisins, butter cookies, caramel, honey sticks to the teeth and makes it hard for the saliva to wash them away. Make sure the child brushes immediately after eating sticky food. Also serve sugary food just after meals instead of snack time. During mealtime, saliva is present in higher amounts and washes away food particles easily.

  2. Experts at children dental clinic recommend parents not only to include healthy food but also habits. Brushing twice a day, not eating anything after brushing your teeth at night are some of the healthy habits to follow. Use fluoride toothpaste as it helps in remineralizing the surface of your teeth. children dental clinic
