  2. Sheets that have more horizontal & vertical threads for every square inch are considered softer and better quality. It is also believed that such sheets are longer lasting. However, many manufacturers have found ways to cheat with their thread count. They add inferior threads to increase the count and thus thread count has become a less dependable way to check the quality of a cotton bedsheet.

  3. Cotton is of many types. The more common ones in bedding are Pima, Supima, Organic, Egyptian, Poly Cotton, etc. Egyptian is a really good type of cotton whose threads are a strong, lustrous, longer staple. Pima & Supima are also very good choices as they have a good feel on the skin and are very comfortable. Poly Cotton sheets aren’t 100% cotton and therefore, they will be the more affordable option.

  4. The weave is an important factor when choosing a cotton bedsheet. There are many different types of weave, each having its own characteristic. For instance, percale sheets are light and crisp, making them ideal for summers. On the other hand, flannel is lightly woven, warm and fuzzy, perfect for the winter time. Sateen is another popular option, it is smooth and lustrous.
