NABC is also a legal document but it is issued only in the absence of original birth certificate to the bearer. It is an authentic proof of getting unregistered birth registered.

  3. When an NRI needs NABC? NABC certifies the appellant has no original birth certificate. It makes easy to get duplicate original birth certificate. NABC is issued when an individual wants: To get the passport issued and for its renewal To make visa/green card and its renewal To get Aadhar card and for its correction To open an account in the bank

  4. In what circumstances NABC is issued? In case of unregistered birth If the original birth certificate is burnt in fire or lost in natural calamity If the MACD or hospital authority is denying to issue birth certificate

  5. What documents are needed for getting NABC? Address proof Photocopy of passport School leaving certificate/ matriculation certificate Parental affidavits Residential affidavit Photos of the applicant

  6. Is there any fee charged for NABC? Yes, MCD office charges fee for it. It is so because: MCD office, in which your birth place comes, has to undergo procedures. Hospital authority cites the similar reason of processing charges. Since original birth certificate is issued free of cost at the time of birth but later, record maintenance adds on expenses.
