  1. HOW I S THE LASI K SURGERY PERFORMED? Lasik surgery takes around 30 minutes, but before the surgery, the ophthalmologist will do various tests to see if you are the perfect patient for the procedure. Once eligible for the medical procedure, you will be asked to stop using contact lenses during tests and before surgery. The eyes are made numb with the help of local anaesthetic eye drops so that the patient does not feel the pain. STEP- 1 An eyelid holder is put in to prevent the eyes from closing, and a suction ring is attached to avoid eye movement. STEP- 2 A paper-sized flap is cut from the cornea using a laser programmed with eye measurements. The flap is laid and folded back like turning a book. STEP- 3 The cornea is reshaped using a laser again while patients are asked to stare at the light. STEP- 4 The flap is folded back into the tissue for self-healing.
