Service to Humanity- Zakat

Zakat is mentioned in holy books of the Islam which is namely Quran as well as Hadith. There are around 30 verses in the Quran that have talked about the Zakat and if we go by Quran Zakat is a way of the redistribution of the wealth therefore creating a proper balance in economy by helping dispossessed as well as Poor Muslims through the Islam Charities.

The important part of the Islamic history is Zakat, which has undergone through so many changes over the passing years and first person to actually contribute to the change is known as Caliph Abu Bakr and the main aim of the change were to make sure that every Muslim man, woman and child get standard income of minimum 10 Dirhams.

  4. The modifications were done by the Umar ibn al- Khattab and the Uthman ibn Affan that said only the apparent wealth was considered as taxable. However this practice was actually short lived but in current times, amount of the Zakat online paid per year is said nearly to be around 15 times of the global Humanitarian contributions.
