Microsoft • Apple does not get it yet. Gates leased his OS to others, who made inexpensive machines for the masses. Apple did not. Gates is a business man who likes computers, Jobs is not up to par with Gates. The best mousetrap does not always win in the marketplace. And literacy plays a large part.
Gates at the Bottom?.... • When it comes to being a computer whiz, appears Gates ranks at the bottom. When it comes to a business man, One might say Gates ranks at the top. Microsoft has little innovation relative to computer operating systems, but when it comes to business, some say there is no equal.
Time Magazine • Bill Gates comes under the Times “Hero and Icons” Time speaks of the words richest man and his many charities, but nothing about innovation? But the Time end the article Quote: “ focused, immensely ambitious, scarily determined, often amazingly prescient”. Sounds like a business man, not a computer geek. What does prescient mean?? “knowing or anticipating the outcome of events before they happen”.
Similarities Between a Mac and Windows • Both have the capacity of performing similar tasks. • Both systems allow users to drag and drop. It is just rarely used by Window users. • Both have the text to audio and command.
Similarities Continued • They both have or had the ability to format floppy disks. • Windows and Mac are both used for net browsing and searching.
Differences Between a Mac and Windows • The Mac is more faster and has a better quality then Windows. • Windows is more time consuming and it takes more time for tasks to be done. • With Mac there is more freedom in the desktop then there is with Windows, which has a confined desktop.
Differences Continued • Macs are able to be forced to quit. • If a Macintosh user ever faces a problem it is more likely that their problem will get fixed more quickly then a Windows user. • With Windows it is more likely to deteriorate and slow down and eventually crash.
