The Background • Growing use in UK Higher Education. • Increases student interaction. • Provides student & teacher feedback. • Useful for some types of Assessments. • Can stimulate debate. • Anonymity of responses beneficial. • Increased Motivation • Fun
PRS & Some related Theories of Learning • Bloom’s Taxonomy- Tests levels 6 of Abstraction. • Operant Conditioning- (Re-enforcement of learning – Part of SR theory- B.F.Skinner. • Motivational Theories- Achievement e.g. Maslow’s. • Thurstone’s 7 Primary Mental Abilities VC,M, WF,NO,PS,S and R.
