Let’s Practice Sample Family Partnership Goals • Improve reading • Improve math • Increase use of technology • Increase community collaboration in the school
Improve reading… To improve reading, double the number of books checked out from the school library by May, 2005.

Community… To increase community collaboration in the school,
From Goal to Action! • Brainstorm activities or strategies that can help you achieve your goal • Then, evaluate: • Which are the most doable? • Which would have the biggest impact? • Which would be fun? Remember: The “best” activity or strategy means nothing if you’re not motivated to complete it.
For Each Activity… Identify: • Expected Results • When Activity will be implemented • What is needed to implement it • Persons responsible • Target audience
Getting Results • Reflect regularly on how you’re doing on your goals (at least once a month) • Communicate the status to all stakeholders (email works great) • Be Accountable for ALL your results • What’s Working • What’s Not • Revise goals, as needed
