Waltham , MA INNOVATION Small package (3” x 4” x 1.7”), rugged design for a infrared spectrometer • ACCOMPLISHMENTS • Entirely new device, miniature spectrometer constructed on a silicon chip • Unique wave guide construction provides similar optical throughput as conventional designs • COMMERCIALIZATION • Technology being developed for applications in the petrochemical, food processing, emission and environmental monitoring, and biomedical industries • SBIR contract with Department of Transportation to develop instrument for use as a diesel engine emission checker for U.S. Coast Guard Small Spectrometer On a Silicon Chip GOVERNMENT/ SCIENCE APPLICATIONS Technology being developed for future NASA missions such as Europa Technology undergoing further development at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory under a NASA Planetary Instrument Development Definition Program contract 1994 Phase II; NAS7-1389 Success Story # 7-025 Jet Propulsion Laboratory
