  3. Our School – The Main Goal • Many businesses in Viet Nam are beginning to use the computer • Students with computer skills find good jobs • Our school helps poor students of Hue receive computer training and assistance they otherwise could not afford

  4. School Name and Location • The name • TRI = Understand • THUC= Knowledge • MOI= New • Location • Central Hue city • Built on front part of my friend’s home

  5. School Admin and Teachers • School Administrator, Nguyen Van Cu • Trusted friend • High School computer teacher for 8 years • Assistant teachers • To assist students with their computer labs

  6. Students From First Class of 2003 Most students have no families and are from a local orphanage Others come from very poor families that are unable to pay tuition

  7. The “one-room” Classroom Students are divided into 3 groups Each group attends twice a week for 6 hours to listen to lecture and do labs Maximum class size of 15 students Each student has access to a computer

  8. Courses Taught Basic Microsoft Office software Basic programming Computer repair, configuration, update Computer networking

  9. Current Operating Costs Currently - $10 per student to receive a month of basic training Cost covers school expenses and salaries for Nguyen Van Cu and assistant instructors

  10. Student Gratitude Students express their gratitude Patrick Hirsch, uncle to co-founder Leo Hirsch traveled to Hue in April, 2003 and visited TTM school Met Nguyen Van Cu and students from first class that began in February, 2003

On behalf of the school, I would like to send my appreciation to your family and friends whose help continues to make these classes successful … As of June 15th, thirty of the forty-five students have passed the final exam they took at the national testing center located in Hue. We will select ten new students to replace those students who did not receive passing grades. The thirty students who passed the test will begin learning more about computer programming and the ten new students will take basic computer training for Microsoft Word. Teacher Email Translated
