5. Hand Raising (HR) Vs. Response Cards (RC): An Empirical Question Study with 20 students in 4th grade class participated during their social studies period
6 students targeted for observation
Alternated conditions, HR, RC, HR, RC
6. Empirically Derived Answer: Response Cards are better than Hand Raising Across 6 target students, both for instructional engagement as well as average number of opportunities to respond to questions
HR-- 0-3/period
RC-- 8-25/period 19/20 students in the class preferred the RC over the HR condition
