  5. The 1936 Bugatti– The fact that only four models of the Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantics were ever manufactured in the world may be one of the reasons why this car sports a mindboggling $34.5 million price tag, making it one of the most expensive cars in the world. A monument to pre-war Europe, the car was one of the most advanced of its time. Made from a light but flammable magnesium alloy called Elektron, the body panels have been riveted externally.

All that power equates to a top speed of 430.9km/h, while the roadster version of this car, the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse can reach an average of 408.84 km/h, making it the fastest roadster in the world.

  7. The 1954 Mercedes w196 f1 Silver Arrow– Known throughout history as the first F1 car with fuel injection, the 1954 Mercedes Benz helped pave the way for Juan Manuel Fangio to win the world championship. This two-door coupe first appeared at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, and features a full carbon fiber monocoque chassis, a hand crafted aluminum body and a naturally aspirated 7.3 liter V 12 engine, definitely giving it a zing that goes far beyond just being one of the world’s most expensive cars. With a tope speed estimated at around 200 mph, the One-77 sports a 0-60 mph time of approximately 3.5 seconds.

  9. 1957 Ferrari 250 TestaRossa– Capable of reaching speeds of 270kph, this car comes with a staggering price tag of $13 million, making it one of the world’s most expensive cars.
