JEWELRY CARE BIJOUTERIE CLEANING GUIDE
THE MAGIC OF PRESERVING It is well said, ”Jewelry should be the last thing to wear while leaving the house and the first thing to take off while you return.” If we want our favorite trinkets to last for years back to back, we have to care for it. Every kind of ornament is dear to our heart and we cannot afford to let them break or see them losing their shine. Whether it is diamond jewelry, silver, gemstone or pearl jewelry, all of them need to be taken care in different ways. The glow of every trinket is different and hence they all require attention in different ways. Let us check out the cleaning steps you could happily follow and bless a long and healthy life to your bijouterie.
SILVER JEWELRY Silver Jewelry is more prone to lose its spark easily, especially when you are wearing it on daily basis. The best way to clean silver jewelry is using baking soda. Line a bowl with aluminum foil, add baking soda dissolved in a cup of hot water & let your chunks in, leave them for 10 minutes and they will come out shining again.
GOLD JEWELRY Fill a bowl with soapy warm water, lukewarm water, not too hot. Use drops od dishwashing liquid, make sure it is not anti-bacterial one. Let your gold jewelry pieces rest within and leave them for 15 minutes. Scrub soft toothbrush to the edges and gently remove the dirt, rinse off the soap in clean water and you'll get freshly purchased feel again.
DIAMOND JEWELRY Diamond Jewelry requires least care as diamond is the hardest carbon atom known to mankind. But for longevity of their shimmer, you have to clean them at least once in a month or two using the cleaners available in the market for a better polished look than adopting DIY methods.
PEARL JEWELRY The best tip to care for your pearl jewelry is to keep it intact after every time you take it off as pearls don’t tarnish but they may get pale after a certain period of time if they are not conserved properly. Don’t wash them with water, instead rub soft cotton cloth and pack them within tissue paper and then keep them safe within your jewelry case.
