Literally, Yoga is one of the six systems of Indian philosophies which are composed by Maharishi Patanjali in-between 200-300 BC. Yoga is the science of life and an ideal way of living to achieve total health, peace and harmony. Introduction Of Yoga • Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word - Yuj which means union or joining. • Yoga is a path towards total harmony of body, mind, and spirit. • Yoga is an art of living. • Yoga is not only a type of activity for the body. It is an old intelligence - for a more beneficial, more joyful, and more tranquil method for living - which eventually prompts union with the Self.

Forms Of Yoga • Yoga can be Categorised into two forms those are as follows:- (i) Ancients Forms of Yoga & (ii) Modern Forms of Yoga. • Examples of Ancient Forms of Yoga Are:-Hatha Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Kriya Yoga etc. • Kundalini Yoga,Power Yoga and integral Yoga are the most common forms of Modern Yoga.
