  1. Feng Shui: The Ancient Science For Good Fortunes Feng shui, a Chinese name whose meaning is ‘wind water’, is one of the Five Arts of Chinese Metaphysics and is classified as physiognomy. Physiognomy is the observation of appearances through formulas and calculations. It is a philosophical system of associating people with the surrounding environment. The history of feng shui is 3,500+ years old. It was in practice before the invention of magnetic compass. The magnetic compass was originated in Chinese astronomy indeed. Its astronomical history has a crucial role in the development of instruments and techniques. Liuren astrolabes, magnetic compass and feng shui ruler are the examples of instruments derived from its theory. The foundation theory consists of Qi (chi), Polarity and Bagua (eight trigrams). Chi is told as a movable positive or negative life force which plays an essential role in feng shui. It refers to the orientation of a structure, its age and its interaction

Feng shui has been described as aligning a city, site or building, with yin- yang force fields. The Bagua is its larger aspect. Bagua refers to diagrams. The Lo Chart, The Luoshu and the River Chart were developed. The Lo chart is also associated with Later Heaven arrangement of the bagua.
